You
can transfer messages to
PC by using Samsung PC Studio 3 software to restore
messages for further use. Connect X700 with PC through USB cable and
Start Samsung PC Studio software and select Manage Messages
..... This will load message manager with all messages.... Now, you can
see two SMS sections.... Phone & PC sections
with inbox, outbox, drafts, sent folders.... And
transfer is in following order:
01. Phone inbox to pc inbox
02. Phone outbox to pc outbox
03. Phone drafts to pc drafts
04. Phone sent to pc sent
You can copy phone inbox messages to PC drafts folder or PC drafts
folder messages to phone drafts / my folder by copy/paste method ....
But you can't copy messages into outbox / sent folders....
Also you can save messages to a word document / text file
by copy / paste method.... To do it, open Samsung PC Studio 3
software and go to
Manage Messages.... the message manager will appear.... and
it will automatically load all messages stored on X700 ( from both sim
/ phone memory ).... Now, select any message and click Open
button (present on lower right corner of dialogue box).... then Edit
Short Message will appear.... just right click on text
message and click Copy then paste
it to a word document / text file.... You have to follow these steps
for each message manually!
To again save messages to phone, open Drafts folder
of phone on PC studio software and open New
menu.... New Short Message dialogue box will
appear.... copy the text from any word/ text file and paste it into
message text box.... and click Save button ....
This will save your new message to phone's drafts folder.... Note: The length of
each message must not
exceed 160 alphabets limit....
Tip # 02 :
Send an SMS / MMS / Email to a group

You
can send a single SMS,
MMS, Email to a group of people with maximum 20 phonebook entries at a
time (even if your group has more than 20 entries).... Select Menu/
Messages/ Create New Message.... Now, select Text
Message or Multimedia Message or Email .... Write your own
message and select Options/ Save and Send or Send Only
....
Now, select Options/ Group and select any group
and press i/ok center key to select any entry ....
Then select Select option on screen .... This will
add all contacts numbers into send list .... Again select
Options/ Send .... This will send the message to all the
persons that you have selected in a row....
Note:You can quickly access into Create
SMS box
by pressing left navigation key in standby mode which is the shortcut
of Create SMS
feature.....
Tip # 03 :
Directly Save attachment file of MMS
into Memory

You
can directly save media
files of MMS into your memory card. Just select Menu/Messages/My
Messages/ Inbox. Now, Select your received MMS message and
go to
"Options/View". This will load the desired message. Now, go
to
"Options/Cut Media". Now, you have these options:
Picture
& Video, Sound, vCard, vCalendar, Other Files.
If
the media is a picture
(like jpg/ gif) then select "Picture & Video" .
Now, you can see the picture's name with file extention. Just select it
and press "Save" . Now, the phone will ask this: "Save
to? Phone or Memory Card". Select
"Memory Card" and press "Save". This
will save the file into your memory card.

# 04 : Add contact number of message sender into your Phone

If
someone sends an
SMS / MMS to you whose contact number is not present in your phonebook
then this tip is for you. To add his / her contact number into your
phone book, follow this :
Open
the message by selecting Menu/Messages/My
Messages/Inbox and select the desired message and press "OK" center key or "Options/View". Now,
select "Options/Cut
Address". Now, you can see his / her contact number.
Again, select "Options/Paste".
Now, press "Save" and
you will see two options like "Save
to.... 1. Phone 2. SIM".
If
you have selected Phone option then select type : Mobile. A new
screen of "Add new
contact" will appear. Just enter his / her name and select
"Options/Save".
This will save contact number into your phone book.
Note :If your mobile doesn't ask you to "save to
phone or SIM"
and directly saves into phone or SIM then go to Menu /
Phonebook / Management / Default Saving" and select "Ask on
saving"
option. If you don't want this option and simply want to save your
contacts on phone memory or SIM then select Phone or SIM
options. Then you will not be asked about where to save new contacts
and your mobile will automatically save contacts into your selected
memory space.
