:Don’t
use “USB Mass Storage” option of X700 when you want
to connect your mobile with Samsung PC Studio software…. Use
“modem” option for that purpose. While
“USB Mass Storage” option is for your memory card.
Q2
:Hi Usman,Thanks for info. I tried with
Modem option but still it does not work.
When I select Modem option, PC is able to detect the same n immidiately
following message comes on PC (tray icon): "A problem occured during

:This is the best java games wap site for
samsung/ motorola (176x220 pixels) screen size.... Save this address
into X700's wap browser as bookmark:
wap-robin.com/java/pages.php?dir=176x220
I have
downloaded some excellent graphics games from this site
(including prince of persia3).... This is russian site but names of
games are in english.... To go to next page, click
“>>” link and to download game
directly into X700, click to the link which starts from words
“yCT...” then you can download java game through
GPRS wap connection!
You
cannot convert "SIS" file into
JAR file. You can only make JAD from JAR by using JADMAKER software.
This is the downloading link:
You
cannot make JAR from JAD because JAD
only contains path information and other simple details of JAR file.
Q5
: Which file
is actually
used in Samsung X700... JAR or JAD? Usman Chughtai
(Dated :
3 December, 2006)
A5
:
The JAR file contains all source code of software while JAD
contains only the path of JAR file and other information like MIDP
version, CLDC Version, jar file name with path, jar file size, vendor
name, and so on.... Actually, JAR file installs with the help of JAD
file.... That is why, both files will be placed in the same folder....
Try to open any JAD file in your PC in any text editor like notepad.
Then you can understand clearly !
Q6 :I could download JAR / JAD
files via USB. But is there any method to download a mobile software
application (.sis file) via USB? pls help. thanx

:
Please note that X700 is
not a symbian mobile, so it doesn’t support
“SIS” files.
Q7 :Hi Usman! I just
noticed
something in my X700..yesterday when i plugged-in the data cable into
my cell, windows found a new hardware still camera or sumthing like
that..then after it was installed a window opened and on the window it
was written that to use the camera select a program but in the window
it didnt show any program relating to it..so my question is,
can we use X700's camera as a still camera on pc? is there any software

:I
don’t think so. I think, you have selected
“PictBridge” option under USB Settings i.e; Menu /
Settings / Phone Settings / USB Settings / PictBridge. When you selects
this option for the first time, you will see this message on your
PC: “Found New Hardware …. Digital Still
Camera” followed by “Your new hardware is installed
and ready to use” message. Actually this PictBridge
function lets you print photos and contacts directly from your handset
on compatible printers without using PC. Just connect your mobile with
a compatible printer through USB cable. For more info about how it
works, read this :
Q8 :Hi,
I have a mp4 file in the "Videos"
folder of my memory card. When I try to move that mp4 file to Phone, it
didn't ask for any option. It simply starts moving and when I checked
it got moved to the "Other files" folder of Phone. I want to
move this mp4 file to my phone's "Videos" folder. But there is no
option to move. Please help me in moving the mp4 file to
phone's "Videos" folder. Thanks!
Manigandan
(Dated : 12 February, 2007)
A8
:Hi
Mani ! .... Your MP4
video file is not compatible with X700 .... that's why, this file is
saved into "Other files" folder of your phone.... To confirm this,
select the file on your MEMORY CARD and go to "Options".... You will
see "Execute" option instead of "Play" option....
To avoid this situation, follow the instructions given for "MPEG4
Direct Maker" software under "Related Softwares" section.
Q9 :Is
there any battery full
indication while we charge? If yes, Will the "Fully Charged" message
displays continuously or just for some seconds. 'coz, I've never seen
it. Or, as in Nokia, we have to disconnect and connect the charger to
the phone to get the message displayed.
Manigandan
(Dated : 19 February, 2007)
A9
:Yes....
It takes about 1.5
to 2 hours from empty to completely charged the battery.... And you can
see the " Fully Charged" message on the display.... This "fully
charged" message appears continueously and recharge the battery after
switching off the mobile then you can see this message, otherwise not.
Q10 :(a) Hi
Usman, I read your postings from gsmarena on
Samsung X700 mobile phone. Some of the posting mention that X700
supports EDGE support for data. Is it really true? In Samsung product
web site doesn't mention EDGE as a feature for X700, it says only GPRS
class 10. Can you comment on this? thank you for ur time..

Good day Mr. Usman. May I ask
you, why the icon for GPRS is always
“On” even if it is OFF and not in use?
Sometimes the display is “E”. What does it
means? Can I do something about it? Thanks and more
power…
Arnulfo
M. Zabala (Dated : 4 January, 2007)
A10 :Hi Varghese & Arnulfo
! Samsung X700
supports EDGE and I can use EDGE feature on my X700 in PAKISTAN....
There is mistake on samsung site.... Check this link:SAMSUNG
X700 SPECIFICATIONSIt is clearly
indicated
EDGE Class 10 feature....
In my country (Pakistan), only "telenor" is providing EDGE service
while all other service providers have GPRS connection....
You can see "G" logo in blue colour all the times on X700, when you are
using GPRS enabled SIM.... and when you are on "EDGE" network ( 4 times
faster than normal GPRS), then you can see "E" logo instead of "G" logo
all the times in blue colour on Samsung X700 .... This is normal....
but when you connects to the internet through wap/mms/email, then it
turns into RED colour .... This RED coloured “G or
E” logo is the clear indication that you are using internet
connection....
If your sim is not GPRS / EDGE enabled, then you cannot see any "G or
E" logo in blue colour.... You cannot use internet through that kind of
sim.... If you have installed memory card, then you will be noticed
that when you are using the SIM which is not GPRS enabled, then you can
only see memory card icon instead of "G or E" logo....
This is the advantage of Samsung X700 because you can easily find out
that which SIM is internet enabled and which SIM is not.... This blue
coloured "G or E" icon will not be shown in D600 even your SIM
is internet enabled.
