Q31 :Hi
Usman. I have a problem with my handset. I do not see the 'answering
machine' option in my handset. I purchased it just a month back. Is it
due to some firmware upgrade? Another thing that I would like to ask is
about the video player. Is there anyway to mute the sound when the
video is playing? Thanks a lot...you rock as alwayzzz

A31 :
In PAKISTAN, it is
introduced with answering machine feature while in INDIA, it is
launched without answering machine feature. This is obviously due to
different firmware version.
There is no “mute” option in video player of X700 but you
can play video files in silent mode.... In standby mode, press
“#” key for 2 seconds. A “ Quiet mode
activated” message will appear.... and you can see the speaker
icon with cross .... Now, try to play any video file.... It will ask to
you that “Play sound in quiet mode? ... Yes or No”....
Select “No” option.... The video file will be played
without any sound.
Q32 :I
bought this phone in May,2006. I was quite satisfied with the phone,
especially, its camera. The picture quality was awesome but now, i am
not getting the same clarity in pictures. Also, the pictures are not
that sharp. Is there some problem with my phone camera...Please
help!!!!

:
Check that pics resolution is set at SXGA (1280 x 1024
pixels)
and quality is super fine.... and transfer these pics to PC and compare
these pics to previous pics.... Also it's picture quality directly
depends on light conditions of surroundings.... If you got same
quality, then check the display brightness settings.... If not, then it
is the camera problem!
Q33 :Thanx
Usman....... but I have a query...Can I change the
resolution of existing pics to SXGA and how can I make sure that now
onwards all pics will get SXGA resolution.
Sheena , (Dated
: 13 November, 2006)
A33
:
In X700, you cannot change the pics resolution....
transfer these pics to your PC and change the resolution by using any
image editing software (like Irfan View)
to 1280 x 1024 pixels .... But if you are trying to change the lower
resolution pics to higher resolution pics, then the pics will
definitely lose quality.... and for print out , change the megapixel
images into ( 640 x 480 pixels) size on PC....and changing from high
resolution to lower one, will increase the pics quality as well....
To
check the default resolution setting, open the camera and
press
left soft key .... this will show “options” menu.... select
option # 7 (settings).... Confirm the size (SXGA : 1280 x 1024) .... To
change this, press left/ right navigation keys.... and press
“save”..
Q34 :One problem I
have found. I have enabled voice recoding using short code: #*22671#
then made a call. Other party answered that call, but there was no
speech (complete silent). But if I disabled recording by #*22672# then made call, it worked fine.
Both parties were talked. Just for info.

A34
: When
call is CONNECTED, then enter this code.... then you can record both
caller's / receiver voice in loud mode.... and at the same time, you
can listen caller's voice and the caller can listen your voice as well.
Q35 :
(a) I
have X700. According to my experience, when i start listening radio,
the battery gives me hardly 2.5 hours and after 2.5 hours set shows low
battery meesage. Can anyone tell me, how can i increase my X700 battery
duration?

Plz any body specially GURU USMAN tell me the real battery Standby time
of new X700. i have a New mobile, I uses it normaly but it's battery
works only 33 to 40 Hours. i purchased mobile 1 week before. Plz
suggest me what i do.
Muhammad Usman , (Dated

A35
: This will increase the
battery duration of your X700:
1.
Recharge only when battery is low means you see low battery
message....since connecting to PC with usb cable also recharges the
battery!
2.
Keep LCD Brightness level to 1 and keypad tone "OFF"....
3.
Keep dim backlight "OFF"....and keypad light use at night time or use
your custom time....
4. Select
menu/settings/light settings/Backlight.... On : 15 seconds.
5.
Use headphones instead of speakers when listening radio/media files.
But
after all these settings, my X700's battery empty again after 35---36
hours.... Since it also depends on usage of different functions (like
backlight mainly).... Your new X700 battery time is normal.
Q36 :Hi, I want
those who have used Samsung X700 to answer my questions:
1.
I heard that to play FM, we also need headphone- Is FM playable only
through
headphone or can be played in Stereospeakers as well. 2.
For how many hours will the battery last if music is played
continuously through
speakers in full volume. 3.
I heard that the bluetooth of X700 is not compatible with most other
bluetooth enabled
phones or PC- is it true. I heard that Nokia or SE sets has least
compatibility problem but this X700 has some serious
compatibility problem- is it true?
Bhaskar , (Dated : 25
November, 2006)
A36
:
Well, this is answer of your all questions:
1.
To start the radio, you must plug in the headphones..... since
headphones acts as an antenna for radio.... You can activate speakers
by radio menu..... Then you can listen very loud stereo sound through
speakers for FM radio....By the way, is there any phone which does not
require
headphones to start the radio?..... i don't think so!
2.
I have not tried continueous playback on speakers ..... but for me,
battery empty again after about 36 hours ( 1 hour playback mp3/ videos/
FM.....1 hour internet/games usage ..... 2 / 3 calls.... using other
features like voice or video recording some times..... bluetooth usage
etc)
3.
The bluetooth incompatibility issue for X700 is 100% false..... X700 is
fully compatible with SE K750i, K700i, Nokia 6600,6630,6681, N70....
Samsung D500, D600.... or even to PC using bluetooth dongle
and so
on .... you name it.... and please don't believe to these false
statements.....

& Connectivity Tips for bluetooth connectivity.
Q37 :Hey
Usman- thank you very much. When
you play mp3/video for 1 hour everyday - do you listen by earphone or
speaker. Please reply to this. Also can you guess the approximate time-
how many hours will it play music through speakers- approximately- any
guess.
Bhaskar , (Dated : 26
November, 2006)
A37
:
I mean, from headphones but for videos, I prefer to use speakers and
for continueous playback in full volume, I guess for about 3 to 4
hours.... May be more or less... I will give you the exact figure in 1
/ 2 days.
Q38
:Thank
you friend. 3 to 4 hours is very good but something tells me it might
be less than that because speakers consume a lot of battery power.
However, I will wait for your experiment and a clear opinion on this
issue.
Bhaskar , (Dated : 26

A38
:
I checked the non-stop playback MP3 files through speakers in full
volume..... I used the louder high quality MP3 music files ( 160 or 192
kb/s).... all played from memory card..... with continueous playback
using playlist.... and the result is unbelieveable.... It took 5 hours
10 minutes long to empty the battery.... I mean, to display message
that “battery is low!”
Q39 :
Hi ! I bought x700 last week and i want to know something
plz.
Is there any way to zoom-in the photo after taking it with camera ?plz
tell me.
MIK , (Dated

A39
: You
can use zoom in / out feature for pictures saved in
“photos” folder only.... Open the desired image, then use
side volume keys (+ for zoom in, - for zoom out) ....
Q40 :
Hi Usman .... I want to know how can i see the
AREA INFO
on my screen. I mean the area name like displays on Nokia cell.
Amie , (Dated

:
To setup this service, Go to "Messages/Broadcast Messages/Channel/All
Channels"..... select “Enable”.... Then go back two
times.... select “Receive: ON”.... Also some service
providers gives you a code that you must enter to this menu to start
this service....
To
see the area name in standby mode, you just need to select the
“CB” option on lower right corner of screen.... then you
will see the area name below the service provider name.
Please
note that this service totally depends on your service
provider. I
have checked “TELENOR” sim on my X700 and my brother's
K700i... In SE K700i, the area name is displayed below the service
provider “ telenor” name.... while in X700, to see the area
name, you just need to select the “CB” option on lower
right corner of screen.... then you will see the area name below the
service provider name.... and you must select the “CB”
option to see the actual area location!
Note :CB stands for Cell Broadcast.
This is same service as Cell Info Service on Nokia sets.
