Usman! I just want to know that, is it safe to format my memory card
through
X700 or not? cauz i heard somewhere in gsmarena's X700 forum that its
not safe to format the memory card through X700.. Khozema

:Today,
I made backup of all my data
of memory card on PC and tried to format the memory card. I am using
SanDisk 512MB microSD card with about 95 % data in it. When I tried to
format the memory card from X700 by going to Menu/ File Manager/ Memory
Card/ Settings/ Format…. The pop up message appeared
“Formatting will erase all data. Continue?”
…. After selected “Yes” option, within 5
seconds, the message appeared “Format
Completed”…
After that, I can access memory card folders easily …. Then,
I transferred all of my data again from PC to memory card using mass
storage option and after that,the memory card is working properly
without any problem.
Use SanDisk memory cards which are more reliable than Kingston since
many users have complained about Kingston cards.
Q12 :Why
i could install only one game through data cable, after that
my phone hangs n restarts!

A12 :To load multiple games just add
another JAD
file in the Uploader software and enter #*5737425# on your
X700 in
standby mode and select Serial Download .... Please
DO NOT SELECT "PPP UP"
otherwise your mobile will restart
and you will need to start the whole procedure from the beginning .
Q13 :The version of X700
released in India does not support EDGE. So don't buy this phone if you
need EDGE support!

A13 :I am from pakistan.... I don't know the
version launched in india but i can confirm you that X700 launched in
my country has EDGE Class 10.... Please confirm that your service
provider is providing EDGE feature and your area is included in EDGE
network.... Samsung X700 is 100% EDGE compatible because i can see the
“E” logo when i uses "Telenor" sim but with
"Mobilink jazz", it only shows “G” logo.... There
is nothing to do with internet setting on your phone because EDGE uses
same GPRS settings....
To check the EDGE class of X700, enter #*3273# in standby
mode .... You
will see "EGPRS multislot class 4" .... It means that it was already
adjusted to class 10.... Again enter above code and you will see "class
8" .... Again enter code to see "class 9".... then after entering 4th
time above code, you will see "EGPRS multislot class 10".... Now, your
mobile has been again switched to EDGE class 10.

Reply : Hi, I'm too from india. I have tried
the code to check EDGE and it
shows the same as Usman told. So, there is no doubt that samsung X700
launched in india has EDGE. I'm using HUTCH sim but it shows only G
signal. May be my network does not support EDGE. I will contact my
service provider for EDGE related service.

is john here. I was using my samsung
X700 for the past 4 months. I got a really good offer to exchange this
phone with the Sony Ericsson K750i. I'm in a real delimma what to do.
Actually i'm a very gud fan of music so my preference is basically
going to be mp3 player.X700 served me really well. The music it
provides through headset i really good.
Usman! what do u think? How is the music in K750i through headset. Can
it match with the music quality provided by samsung X700?? I also read
in X700 forum that there is some problem assosiated with the joystick
of K750i. Is it true? since, I think Samsung has an edge over Sony
Ericsson in terms of reliablity.

MP3 Player of SE K750i is
better than X700 because of having equalizer and it can be minimized
also.... Sound quality is also excellent.... But it's joystick is the
major problem.... One of my friend has K750i and after 8 months of
usage, the left and down function of joystick was not working!.... dust
particles/ moisture affects very badly to it's joystick.... Yes, SE
service center can repair/ replace it but i must say that it's joystick
is not user friendly!..... Also my brother's K700i had joystick
problem.... It was too hard and not useable....
Go for W810i instead of K750i because W810i has 5 ways navigation keys
( no joystick!)....Also it has EDGE feature.

badly required
your help. In order to increase my mp3 volume suggested in D900 forum,
I used secret audio setting.(*#8999*8378#)
but after that my incoming
calls are coming in a very low voice. I am not able to hear properly
what the other person is speaking. Is there any default value available
so that again i can change my settings. If not what are the other
possible method ....without going for reset.
Now i have already downloaded no of games and appn in my x700 ...if i
reset will it be erased ? What i sud do now ? i dont know how to do
resetting. Please guide me how to increase the incoming call voice.

:Go to Menu /Settings / Reset Settings. Now,
you can see these four options:
All, Phone settings, Display settings, Sound
settings
Select
"Sound settings" by pressing "i / OK" center key and press "Reset"
softkey. A pop-up message will appear that "Reset settings? YES or NO".
Just select "YES" option. Now, it will be asked for password. The
default password is eight digit password "00000000". Enter it but if
you have changed it before then enter your own password and press "OK"
softkey. A pop-up message "Reset" will appear. This means that your
phone's sound settings has been adjusted again to factory
settings.
Note:
The above method doesn't delete ANY file either from phone or memory
card. So, this is the safest method to reset all your phone's
settings.
If you don't want to enter password due to a
reason that you have lost your own password then use below method:
If you have
changed the audio settings from test menu code ( *#8999*8378# ) ,
then
try this full reset code in standby mode: (
*2767*3855# )
which will restart your mobile. You will get actual factory
settings again including audio settings. It doesn't delete any
installed java game
but before doing this, transfer all your data into memory card or
PC..... Also transfer your phone book to SIM card or simply save
complete phonebook to wab (windows address book) file by using Samsung
PC Studio Software.... You will lose internet wap, Email settings,
bookmarks, FM radio channels names, All pics in photos folder ,
favourite images, and so on.... But it does not delete any file present
in your memory card.

The downloading limit for
file size through WAP internet is 1024KB (or 1MB).... This is WAP
browser's limit.... I tried to download a 1.3MB MP3 file using Opera
Mini which uses X700's WAP browser for downloading files.... After
downloading 1024KB data, it displayed “Try
Again....” error and stopped.... but i have successfully
downloaded a 945KB mp3 file through WAP.

the Opera Mini 3 browser as per your instruction, but I am facing
problem installing the same. The installation bar goes till 100% and
then a message appears saying "Cannot connect to Internet" although I
see the "G" appearing at the top during the installation process.

WAP. After downloading, and opening the application, the following was

with your desktop browser or

What is the problem, i am not getting. But i am able to receive mails
from google account, and yahoo account (through flurry). I went through
the help at operamini, they had given the ip address for my servivce
provider. I tried out that one also, but the result is same, it is not
working. Plz, help me in this regard.

that you are able to open WAP sites through WAP browser.... If not,
clear the cache of wap browser and try again.... Some times, java
midlet like Opera Mini has some connection problem.... Restart mobile
and try again.... I have successfully installed Opera Mini 3 after
tried 2 times! Most of the times, this kind of problem is due to
service provider's network.

life for normal usage is
about 36—48 hours..... you can reach this figure by following
these :
Keep LCD Brightness level to 1 and keypad tone "OFF". Keep dim
backlight "OFF"and keypad light use at night time or use your custom
time.
Use headphones instead of speakers when listening radio/media files.
The sound quality of headphones is very good .... better than speakers
.... My brother has D600 which is about 2 times louder than X700 but at
maximum volume, X700 gives better sound quality than D600 .... There is
clear quality difference between D600 and X700 when playing same audio
file.... May be you are using poor quality audio files!... For FM
radio, some channels have excellent sound quality while some have
average quality.... Phone locking system is fast .... You just need to
enter correct password... 200 SMS can be saved into phone's
memory.... you can easily copy/ paste all SMS to a word file / text
file on your PC using Samsung PC Studio Software.

I have converted Mp3 files to AAC
using sound editor software. Bit rate was set to 128 but it didn't
work.then i tried with 96 but all in vain again. Do i need to use some
particular software to encode the files. Do u recommend any particular

the bitrate of this AAC file from file properties in X700.... It will
be bitrate: 0Kb/s .... That's may be the reason for showing unsupported
content message in X700.... But do you know that MP4 audio is the
container format of MPEG4 Standard which contains AAC streams.... So,
use MP4 audio instead of raw AAC file.... Use NERO Burning ROM software
to make audio MP4 files from MP3 files.... To get it, go
to
NERO .
Open Nero Burning
Rom software....You will see
“New Compilation” wizard.... cancel it!....Now, go
to "Extras/Encode Files".... Now add any mp3 audio file into it.... go
to settings and select constant bitrate as 96 kb/s .....
If you set bitrate: 64kb/s then file size will be decreased to about
50% with almost same quality.....
Encoder quality: high.
AAC Profile : high HE (high efficiency) AAC.
If you got transfer (sampling/ bitrate) error in X700's Music folder
then use LC (Low Complexity)AAC profile....
Click OK, then click GO. This will start the encoding process.

A21 :If you are using "Opera
Mini 3" web browser on your Samsung X700, then you can get the internet
usage info like number of bytes of data transferred (sending or
receiving) but this only indicates the data transfer through Opera Mini
(not through your WAP browser or email client or MMS or any other
internet enabled java midlet like flurry mail). Any way, Open Opera
Mini 3 software and go to "Menu/ Tools/ Help/About". Now
scroll down and you can see this:

To
reset to zero, select "Clear"
option by pressing "i / OK" center key.
